Our Why

Many of the children in foster care have been through unfathomable experiences at such a young and pivotal age in their development. Creative expression through art assists children to explore who they are, who they are becoming and how they see others.

Art is often used to understand differences, diversity and divergence. Art enhances brain function by impacting brain wave patterns, emotions, and the nervous system, and it has been proven that it can also raise serotonin levels. These benefits don't just come from making art, they also occur by experiencing art.

We hope that by providing exposure to free art programs and events, we can facilitate a creative outlet to help inspire and grow the beautiful minds of these children.

By using art as a means, children can learn about other cultures and express their own personalities.

Each year, hundreds of children enter the foster care system in Delaware, at an ever increasing rate. Our mission is to raise funds and create opportunities for these children to gain exposure to free events and programs in the creative arts.
